1. The 300-year-old Brewery
Our Brewery is situated along Saga Prefectural Road Route 22. Going past our warehouse and bottling house, upon a hill sits our main building.
At our entrance, stained-glass signage that says “Amabuki” greets our guests.
2. The Century-old Main Building
Opening the wooden doors at the entrance reveals the main building, which was built over a century ago.
This is where you will be received as guests.
3. Our Preparation House
Opening the glass doors on the north side of our sampling area produces a view of our preparation house.
Past a stone-paved path is a large, 300-year-old zelkova tree, and beyond that is our Fuzin-gura.
In 2001, we decided to rebuild our preparation house with the old beams and pillars in tact. We named this building “Fuzin-gura” and decorated the building with a relief of its namesake, Fuzin (the Japanese wind god).
Entering the preparation house during the winter sake-brewing season, you’ll be greeted by the fragrant aroma that hangs in the air.
Here, you can hear about sake brewing and enjoy your brewery tour while being surrounded by the sounds and aromas of fermentation.
Going up the stairs to the second floor, you’ll find a large gallery room. You’ll find rows of wooden barrels that were once used for sake brewing.
Here is where we hold events like music festivals and weddings.
4. Back to the Sampling Area for Sake Tasting
After the tour of the sake brewery has ended, you can enjoy sake tasting and shopping in our sampling area.
Enjoy a variety of flower-extracted yeasts and familiarize yourself with their different aromas and flavors so you can discover your favorite Amabuki sake.
